A forgettable answer, and a better one

"A guest's ticket won't scan at the gate and they've been sent to your window annoyed. Walk me through what you'd do."

Forgettable

You say you'd just let them in, or you jump straight to calling a manager without looking anything up.

Better

Acknowledge the wait before you ask for anything. Ask for the order confirmation and ID, then look up the order in the ticketing system. Check the usual culprits: wrong date, wrong park, already redeemed, a duplicate barcode. Fix it or explain it plainly, then walk them to the right entrance so they don't queue again.

"A parent tells you their child is missing. What happens next?"

Forgettable

You'd go searching yourself, or send the parent off to look while you wait at the desk.

Better

Stay calm and keep the parent with you. Take a clear description: clothing, age, where they were last seen. Radio or call security immediately using the property's code or procedure. Stay with the parent until the child is found, then complete the incident report.

Questions to ask them

  • What can a representative approve on their own, and what has to go to a lead?
  • Which problems bring the most guests to the window on a typical busy day?
  • How does the team handle lost child and medical calls, and what training comes before my first shift?
  • How do people here move from representative to lead or supervisor?
  • What does the schedule look like during the off-season?
