About the role
Our backend teams are responsible for the services and data that keep HeroApply reliable at scale. The work spans service design, data integrity, performance and the operational excellence that users never see but always feel.
You will own meaningful parts of that platform, collaborate across teams, and raise the bar for reliability and simplicity.
What you will do
- Design, build and operate scalable services and data models.
- Ensure reliability, security and performance across the systems you own.
- Collaborate with product and frontend engineers on well-defined interfaces.
- Write thorough tests and clear documentation.
- Participate in design reviews and contribute to engineering standards.
What you bring
- Strong experience building and operating backend systems in production.
- Deep understanding of data modelling, concurrency and distributed systems fundamentals.
- A focus on reliability, observability and operational excellence.
- A pragmatic, collaborative approach to engineering.
- Excellent communication skills.
Nice to have
- Experience with high-volume consumer platforms.
- Background in security or privacy engineering.
- Prior ownership of an on-call rotation.
